Meet the Fitzgeralds!
We are a down-to-earth, nature based, minimalist, adventure loving family of 5 with our dog, Bay. We have been homeschooling for a year now and our only regret is not starting sooner! We have already had so many adventures in our own backyard and can’t wait to spread our wings and have more. Over the last few years we have discovered that the “typical” life just isn’t for us. We owned a home, sent our kids off to school, my husband worked 7 days a week and we still struggled to get by. But, that was life, right? We started to reevaluate what we wanted out of life and researching ways of having a better life for our family. What did we want for ourselves and our children? We wanted to be together, to explore the world and to have adventures. We wanted to teach our children to value experiences above things and we wanted to live life, not just mark time. The Fitzgerald family loves learning new skills and seeing new places. We want our children to learn by living and doing, to have the experiences for themselves and not just hearing about others who have had experiences. We, as a family, are willing and able to take on all kinds of work and are more than happy to get our hands dirty! Read on and you will see just how much our family has to offer you!
Todd is our jack of all trades. He has a Master sheet metal license and has been working in the heating and air conditioning trade as an installer for the last 20 years. There is nothing, that I have seen, that he cannot accomplish. From carpentry to auto mechanics, landscaping, plumbing and so much more, he is always up to the task. He is meticulous in his work and settles for nothing less than his best, no matter what he’s doing.
Kim has been a stay at home mom for the last 13 years, author of various blogs & vlogs for the last 5 years and a homeschool mom for the last year. She has an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and learning new skills. Kim is proud of the fact that she can drive a tractor and can offer great people skills, computer skills, years of experience in customer service, creative problem solving skills, yard work, gardening and so much more. She loves the outdoors and is also an avid crafter and has learned to sew, crochet, bead weave and hand embroider.
Caleb is 13 years old. His passion lies in all forms of dance, especially tap and hip-hop and has spent 4 years on the competition dance team near our home in Massachusetts. He also loves science and video games. He has spent the last couple of years working with his grandfather towards his ham radio license which includes a lot of electronics knowledge. He is our shy guy, but is incredibly kind and helpful.
Abigail is our 10 year old social butterfly and seems to make friends wherever she goes. Another child with a passion for dance, she has also been a competitive dancer for the past 4 years. An animal lover, Abigail aspires to be a veterinarian and has been riding and caring for horses for the past 2 years. She also has experience with other animals such as cats, dogs, chickens, bunnies and pigs.
Emily is our youngest. She is 3-1/2 years old, sweet and spirited. She loves to be included and be helpful. She enjoys watching videos, reading stories and learning from her big brother and sister.
Bay is our 5 year old black lab mix rescue. Born in Tennessee, she arrived in Massachusetts at just 10 weeks old with her litter mates. Friendly, quiet and well behaved, she’d make a terrible watchdog! She has been raised around children and animals, including other dogs, cats, chickens, pigs and rabbits. She loves to run, tag along with mom or dad and snuggle with anybody who will pet her.
Our family would love the opportunity to show you all that we have to offer and share our ever expanding skills and knowledge with you! Please contact us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 508-397-712. We’re so excited to work with you!
